No!

Challenge

Setting boundaries is hard in daily life: at work, with family and friends, with rules you set for yourself. Most apps in this space want to therapize, coach, or upload the journal to the cloud. There was no quiet place that only records what happened and reminds you once a week to look at it.

Solution

We built No! as a practice room on the phone. After a hard moment you write three short notes: what happened, how it felt, and whether you said a clear no, a partial no, or nothing yet. Each week the app counts those from your own entries. Reminders run on the device. Entries stay on the phone – no account, no journal server. The site say-no.app explains the loop and collects the waitlist for the iOS beta.

Impact

The app makes repeating boundary moments visible. iOS beta via waitlist with double opt-in, Android to follow. Reflections never leave the phone.

Project Overview

No! is a quiet practice room for the moments you needed a boundary. It is not therapy. You write down what happened, how it felt, and what you did. After a week the patterns start to show.

Key Features

  • Short reflections in three steps: situation, feeling, reaction
  • Weekly recap with counts of clear nos, partial nos, and unfinished moments
  • Optional daily nudge and Sunday reminder, local on the device
  • Entries on the phone only, no account and no sync
  • Short reads on guilt, I-statements, and inner pressure
  • Marketing site with waitlist (double opt-in) in German and English

Technical Highlights

The website runs on Nuxt 4 and Vue 3. The iOS app stores reflections locally; there is no journal server. Reminders run on the device, not through a push service. iOS first, Android once the practice loop is right on one platform.
